knowledge, and promote mass adoption of technologies for
simpler, sustainable farming. Through strategic partnerships
and projects, we are trying to bring scientific and analytical
tools/technologies at the grassroots level whereby farmers can
make informed decisions for their plant protection &
nutritional needs.
JVES advocates for sustainable agriculture through policy
influence. We collaborate with industry bodies and
policymakers, promoting organic farming practices /
sustainable agriculture and climate-resilient policies for our
farmers. Our focus is on aligning policies for better
livelihoods and addressing climate challenges with
nature-centric solutions wherein the small & marginal farmer's
interests are protected as well.
JVES fosters market linkages and collaborations with diverse
stakeholders, including government and private institutions
which helps to retain maximum value at the farm level. Our
journey involves partnering with visionaries, entrepreneurs,
and policymakers to achieve shared sustainable objectives.
Together, we drive impactful initiatives, adding value to each
other's profiles and advancing towards our collective goals.
The journey towards our vision and mission brought us to many
realities and helped us meet many thinkers, developers,
leaders, great personalities, authors, entrepreneurs,
politicians and bureaucrats. Many have helped us to be what we
are today and also provided us with the right advice and
support from time to time. Some of these are path-breaking
ideas that we have not only adopted but have collaborated with
these institutions to help them reach the masses.

JVES is an NGO that promotes Sustainable and Organic Farming.
We are a facilitating
agency for organic farming projects with NCO&NF and APEDA.
We promote sustainable
practices in agriculture and water resources for food
security, biodiversity protection, and economic development.
We educate and train
farmers on sustainable farming methods that improve soil
health, reduce chemical inputs, and enhance biodiversity.
We provide farmers with
organic fertilizers and seeds and help them get organic
certifications such as PGS INDIA CERT, INDIA NPOP, USDA NOP,
COR etc.
We implement a complete
traceability system in multiple crops and agro-climatic
conditions and provide end-to-end services for the
farmer/growers/planters and Govt. departments.
We develop in-house
Control systems and SOPs for farmers and learn from their
indigenous knowledge of biological management of pests and
diseases.
We believe that organic
farming is a way of life in harmony with nature and
certifications are tools for assuring consumers that the
product is genuine.

Globally, 2 billion people (26% of the population) do not have
safe drinking water and 3.6 billion (46%) lack access to
safely managed sanitation, according to the report, published
by UNESCO on behalf of UN-Water and released at the UN 2023
Water Conference in New York. At the UN Water Conference 2023,
India made two significant commitments: investing $240 billion
in the water sector and taking measures to restore the
groundwater level. India pledged $50 billion to enhance rural
drinking water services through the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Climate change, increasing water scarcity, population growth,
demographic changes, pollution, increased use of Fertilizers &
chemicals in farming and urbanization already pose challenges
for water supply systems and have already achieved critical
conditions in a few places. Having access to clean drinking
water, sanitation, and hygiene practices is crucial to ensure
good health and well-being. Not only does safe WASH (Water,
Sanitation and Hygiene) foster better health, but it also
enhances the quality of life, promotes education, and empowers
individuals. Moreover, safe WASH practices promote community
resilience, resulting in a healthy and livable environment for
all.
As a major sustainable goal of JVES and allied stakeholders,
we are working to create a positive impact through various
projects & awareness campaigns towards sustainable water
management, pollution control, education and adoption towards
a conservation approach to the life source for all.

One of the main reasons why skills are more important than
degrees is because they are directly applicable to the job at
hand. A candidate with a degree may have a broad understanding
of a subject, but without the specific skills needed to
perform the job, they may struggle to succeed in the role.
Every sector requires skilling and upskilling as with the
advancement of technology and challenges posed by rapid
changes, people need to adapt to survive/thrive for which
learning tools for skilling have become a necessity.
The agriculture and allied sectors are experiencing a
significant transformation in the way farming is done. The
sector is shifting towards sustainable and organic farming
practices that promote food safety, environmental protection,
and economic growth. This transformation is also being
supported by agri-digitization, farmer training, and complete
traceability through IoT and transparency tools.
For small & marginal farmers to adapt to the changing needs
becomes a challenge, where it is essential to provide
technical support, training and exposure to better practices
in a structured and organized manner. JVES is a registered
Training Provider with Paschim Banga Society for Skill
Development (PBSSD) and also under National Skill Devt.
Corporation (NSDC) and have imparted various agriculture
skills and upskilling courses since 2018 onwards.
JVES pioneers agri-tech integration, empowering farmers with
market access and transparency. We bridge the gap, disseminate
knowledge, and promote mass adoption of technologies for
simpler, sustainable farming. Through strategic partnerships
and projects, we are trying to bring scientific and analytical
tools/technologies at the grassroots level whereby farmers can
make informed decisions for their plant protection &
nutritional needs.
All these new-age technologies or services are disruptors and
help the common people/farmers connect to the market and also
a consumer knows what he/she is buying at the end of the day.
Unlike the existing process of agri marketing, these tools
help to minimize cost, reduce intermediaries, help towards
lessening carbon footprints and also towards carbon
sequestration and most importantly create transparency.
Farmers are not accustomed to these words and usually, they
are very skeptical of Change. We at JVES help to minimize this
gap and help disseminate the correct information to the
farmers, train them for its adaptability and help towards mass
usage of such simple tools to make life easier for them.
When we secure a project from our funding agencies or govt.
departments, we try to integrate technology with help from
their developers at minimal cost for such projects at times,
even if the funds are not there for such integration. The
bigger the project, the better the delivery of such tools.
Our major projects are Cluster e.g. UPSRLM – an organic
cluster project that has over 20,400 mahila kisan, CBBO we are
managing over 47 FPOs across 2 States (Uttar Pradesh and West
Bengal), which helps us to access thousands of farmers and
their linkages. Though these projects never asked for such
interventions, managing the huge number of farmers and
multiple challenges required the adoption of technology which
became a necessity. The differentiator is we are trying to
bring parity towards all our projects with the primary goal of
sustainability and improving the livelihood of the farmers by
using informed technology/solutions.
Carbon Sequestration models need proper adaptation and whether
such models can be rolled out in large numbers across multiple
agro-climatic zones and amongst different cultural practices,
is the challenge that JVES is helping to mitigate. Unlike many
projects, JVES is trying to bring clinical support at the
field level wherein proper data can be captured on how the
project can achieve its desired carbon sequestration goals
systematically.
We at JVES work with universities and various Organic input
companies to create a better tomorrow. Folk varieties of
crops, GI Crops tagging and traceability, Organic farming
approach and methodologies, Regenerative Agriculture,
Certification systems, working on carbon sequestration models
and helping farmers adapt to these challenges to help impact
their livelihood and economic well-being are what we are
implementing.
JVES advocates for sustainable agriculture through policy

policymakers, promoting organic farming practices /
sustainable agriculture and climate-resilient policies for our
farmers. Our focus is on aligning policies for better
livelihoods and addressing climate challenges with
nature-centric solutions wherein the small & marginal farmer's
interests are protected as well.
Social Enterprises such as ours need to participate with
Industry bodies like
CII,FICCI
,
ASSOCHAM
etc. to provide them with a parallel thought process that
helps them to align in the right direction towards advising
Government and Policymaking bodies. Rarely do social
enterprises interact with trade bodies considering them to be
serving the interest of the corporations but in our view,
Companies are increasingly looking towards social enterprises
to address various challenges that they face. In doing so,
JVES is trying to bridge three ways by advocating policies for
the betterment of the Farmers, advocating policies that help
align towards a social responsibility of the corporations and
helping to frame better Govt. policies in a collective way.
JVES's primary objectives lie in providing better sustenance
and creating a positive livelihood impact for the farmers of
the nation using sustainable agricultural interventions. We
have been able to reason with public officials towards the
adoption of organic inputs in large-scale govt. policies that
have not only helped farmers learn about them but also helped
the Organic input industry access large markets making them
viable business ventures.
Simultaneously, considering the various certification norms in
organic farming and newer standards and policies related to
the detection of residue in crops, many organic growers remain
unaware of the changes that lead to the rejection of their
farm products in the market. As advocacy platforms we at JVES,
not only make the growers aware of the changing norms but also
reason with policymakers on behalf of the growers on the new
standards and their implications and how best we can adapt to
the challenges.
Our agroclimatic conditions have changed dramatically in the
last decade and made many crops challenging to grow. Modern
solutions are available in terms of protected cultivation,
hydroponics, vertical farming, Agri IoT, drone usage etc. but
in the end, we cannot intervene at a mass scale to overcome
the challenges of climate change using such ways. We have to
work with nature and keep her needs a priority if we want to
grow crops for generations in our soil. Our efforts with
policymakers are to make them understand the need of the hour
and for future generations to benefit from such interventions.
JVES fosters market linkages and collaborations with diverse
stakeholders, including government and private institutions

journey involves partnering with visionaries, entrepreneurs,
